Saturday Slam #4
Race 1 $6K claiming trotters in Saturday's opener and this race is full of question marks so we are going to attack this race with a different strategy. It's called the spread out approach. We are going to take $20 and give ourselves an opportunity in a variety of exacta plays. We are going to play a $2 exacta 2 with 3-7 and 3-7 with 2. Then, we will play a $2 exacta box 4-6-8. The theory is speed is either going to hold or all the closers will come together.
Total Investment $20
Race 2 Potential heavy chalk alert with Age of Consent. This barn has to be close to undefeated in the bottom cond. level over the years. As a matter of fact, this barn very rarely finds itself with a horse in this class. $5 exactas 9 with 14
Total Investment $10
Race 3 Tread very lightly here in race 3. Several question marks with 4 horses making their 2009 debuts, and plenty of horses that have breaking issues. If you must have action, the #1 Heart Attach maybe worth the plunge.
Total Investment $0
Race 4 We have what we think is a slam dunk 4 horse tri box, but we don't want to spend $24 to win just a few bucks so we are going to have to try to figure out a winner amongst the 4. Didrickson is probably our man with KW returning to the bike. Let's try a $2 tri 4 with 36 with 136.
Total Investment $8
Race 5 This is a good group of young trotters and quite a few of them have a chance to win this thing. Let's take a shot on Lola's Keeper. She had some good success as a 3YO and she qualified great. Let's hope for the 10-1 ML. $5 WP 4.
Total Investment $10
Race 6 This race appears pretty cut & dry. No speed threats from the outside really favors the inside speed of #4 Let's Talk About Me and #1 Ima Keeper. Just Dani may come first over and Virtual Princess sits chilly for a piece. If things go according to hoyle, it should be an easy score. $4 Trifecta 14 with 124 with 124.
Total Investment $16
Race 7 Distant Memories should beat these guys out of the gate here and turn this into a chase (that is if he doesn't hop at the start). # 6, 7, and 8 all have decent enough speed to try to grab early position. However, if Distant Memories starts to get away, there could be a closing threat up to get a piece here. Let's try a $2 exacta 5 with 249.
Total Investment $6
Race 8 I think Celtic Danser is ready to go here. It's time for the next few weeks to jump on the MSC (Marie St Charles) bandwagon here as all of her stock is starting to race well. What you have to ask yourself is how is Celtic Danser going to win. Personally, I think she goes to the top. If thats the case, then Either the 1 or the 3 is going to get the trip. $5 exactas 4 with 13.
Total Investment $10
Race 9 It's very tough to go against Armbro Billow here considering he just threw his weight around last week agianst a similiar bunch. The only horse I think that has a crack at him is a steadily improving Blueprint. He should sit chilly again and if "Billow" doesn't get away from them as he did last week, the #1 has a shot. $10 exacta 8-1. $5 exacta 1-8.
Total Investment $15
Race 10 The invitational is always entertaining and this week won't dissapoint. Infinite Justice showed all heart last week as he fought bravely against Enough Hanover, who appeared to have the race won in short stretch. Lead The Stampede appeared to be a little off last week, but he certainly is a proven commodity. Let's sit back and watch what should be another good Hazel Invite.
Investment $0
Race 11 I've Got the Desire had some serious form issues for 4 start in a row culminating when he came to a complete stop back on May 30. Two weeks rest and he came back like a new horse, flying in the late stages to just miss despite not having any striking position. Trainer immediately yanks him out of a claimer and that is a big positive. We like him alot. $20 to win #7.
Total Investment $20
Race 12 Change Your Luxk had every right to tire last week going first over against a dominant winner. Trainer makes a driver switch to BK and is likely to try and come from off the pace tonight. $2 ex 7 with 1234 and $2 ex 1234 with 7.
Total Investment $16
Race 13 MSC bandwagon time once again (please see race 8 for explanation). SF Alibi exploded with a life best last start and is well placed in this claiming crew. Options endless for second and third, so avoid gimmicks. $10 WP 8.
Total Investment $20
Race 14 They say you'd rather be lucky then good. Let's take a total shot in the dark with Graycious Gal here. I just don't really like anyone else, and she has been getting better. I can envision the speed breaking down and her just being in the right place at the right time. $2 ex 5 with 379 $2 ex 379 with 5.
Total Investment $12
Race 15 Curious move dumping Joker's Lil Alibi down to the bottom claim level here. If she races like she did 2 or 3 back, she crushes. Let's hope to take advantage of a scurmish for second. $2 Tri 5 with 26 with 23467.
Total Investment $16.
Overall Total Investment - $179
