Saturday Slam
A good looking Saturday Card. Let's see if we can make some MONEY!!!
Race 1 selection - SS SENORITA
We could have a major chalk alert here in the form of Summer Vacation, who loves this track and represents some back class over this oval. Our pick however had a tough journey last week at 7-1. This field is easier with the exception of SV and there are other betting options here too, so a price is possible. 4-1 or better.
Race 2 selection - LOVING DISPOSITION
Our pick has the ability to go on a roll as she's done in the years past. Her qua 3 back was decent. Needed start from a bad post 2 back. Break at the start in her last. She has speed in a race where the only other speed threat is outside of her (Crown Me Princess). She meets an extremely soft field. Probable favorite Sundance As draws post 9.
Race 3 selection - ARMBRO BILLOW
This was a WOW performance in his last, the meets fastest thus far. His step up to the Invite ranks should scare no one, as he has had success here in previous years. Short field will assure striking position. Bobnoxious continues to edge toward the million dollar mark in career earnings. He set a soft tempo last week leaving the others without a prayer, including The Admiral, who had an extremely tough trip last week.
Race 4 selection - GRAYCIOUS GAL
Our pick had impossible trips in her last two starts against tougher. Drops down into a very soft spot and figures to be the one to beat. Waco Sharon owns a time advantage here, and also figures to leave in race void of speed. Art's Sweetie drops after a dull effort. She fits way better in here. A trifecta play in here makes sense. 3 with 57 with 157.
Race 5 selection - LILA MAY
Big effort from post 8 last week. Parked virtually the entire mile and still closed well against a tough field. This week, the field is not as deep and she gets a big post change. Might be a little overlay (anything over 2-1) with a few other betting options in the race. Late Nite Arrival gets post relief. Caitlyn's Raider gets a driver change. Virtual Princess and CC J Lo both get post relief as well.
Race 6 selection - IVE GOT THE DESIRE
Field was soft last week that our pick handled but on further review of the replay, it was a pretty darn good performance. Trainer Eric Beach doesn't raise horses in class unless he thinks they can handle it. There is speed inside of him, and with the class hike we better demand more then the 4-1 morning line. (I would say 7-1 or better).
Race 7 selection - FIT HAPPENS
Looks pretty cut & dry. Same pace scenario figures to set up as the two speedsters Bronson Hall and Camlucks Dominator are at it again. Fit Happens won over $100,000 last year, and was able to close home despite the soft fractions set by the leaders last week. A short price is better then a long face. To spice things up a bit, lets try a TRI with a horse that may be behind Fit Happens in the cover flow for second. 4 with 67 with 123.
Race 8 selection - VILLAGE JOSHUA
We must demand a price out of our pick here before wagering. Taking a chance on a double jump in class and a pace scenario that may not play to his favor. However, he had a ton (and I mean a ton) of pace at the end of the mile last week, which could mean a return to the form of 2007. Anvil Raider had a big effort against a tad stronger last week. Jate's Ideal is an improving 4 Year Old that is sitting on a big effort. CB Tower and Singin Blues are all contenders as well. We need 10-1 or better.
Race 9 selection - SEYMOUR DOOLITTLE
Has caught fire as of late. Two back going a swift 54 and last start winning in the open stretch. Up to a high end Open here that is weaker than it usually is. Figures to show speed and hopefully he can work out a trip similar to his last. Worried about Infinite Justice. He fits really well in here, but something did not look right last week. The slow fractions certainly didn't help, but he should have performed better at least in my opinion. Front Page is red hot and is starting to put it all together. He will be tested tonight.
Race 10 selection - HANSUM ECLIPSE
This race is highlighted by the return of Pc's Leo. Performed decently against tougher at Hoosier, and really likes this track. Hopefully he will attract favorite status and give us at least 3-1 on our pick. Hansum Eclipse really performed well last week against a classy Looselipssinkships. Draws inside so the trip should be somewhat similer.
Race 11 selection - STATIC FLOW
She had a ton of pace last week, unfortunately she didn't have much racing room. She figures to use her speed again to seek an early seat, and hopefully she can shake loose in time. Rapid Fire Gunny is a big concern and probable favorite. She took them all the way last week, although it may have been a different story of SS Senorita would have shaken free sooner. Shark's Premier could be a longshot to consider. She made a break last week and had a hard closing effort 2 starts back.
Race 12 selection - FRANK HO
Ol Frankie gets a real soft spot here. Beaten favorite gets a chance to make amends and should. Jack's Jet raced well against a standout last week. Antique Tom represents back class but suspect form. Be creative in gimmicks my friends and don't be afraid to use the "all" button here.
