Friday Focus #10
Race 1: Pretty strong race considering it's a bottom cond level trot. If Really Perfect can bring to the table what he did last week, it's going to be a long night for everyone else. That was quite a sweeping move just shy of the far turn to draw away against what was definitely an easier field. Thing is if there is a live enough outer flow, he very well maybe sitting in the same place position wise then he was when he started from post 1 last start. Double Royal is the top contender. He had a ton of trot at the end of that mile last week but the post and position really hurt. Keep Your Shirt On is always a threat at this level as well. $1 Trifecta 9 with 256 with 24568. Total $12.
Race 2: Our pick in this spot is Keepsafe off of the drop. Came off of a scratch sick last week in the extreme outside post to race ok. Last time at this level he posted a pretty decent win. Bar K Artistic could be a sleeper in here. His biggest battle is staying flat but he has put together a few nice qualifiers. It's wide open after that. $1 Tri 46 with 46 with 23459. Total $10.
Race 3: Going to go to Pole sitter Kenzie's Scooter in this spot. She is making her 2009 debut and she did something in her qualifier that was atypical of how she raced last year. She came from behind in that qualie with a good last quarter. This field is pretty weak and the main threats are well on the outside. Let's give her a shot and hope for some value. $5 WP 1. Total $10.
Race 4: This race figures to play well for the closers as Pete's Brother, SF Razamatazz, SF Overcast, and Briar Clip all figure to be on the move early. If that develops, its hard to see how Selectric and Perfect Keylauge can't pick up the pieces late. $5 Exacta Box 1-3. Total $10.
Race 5: This is wide open so whatever the strategy is you use, demand value. Perfect Page came off of a decent qualifier and raced even in a needed start. Art sticks with so this horse could come forward a little tonight. Rova Rose had a very tough trip last week and does have a decent late kick if he can stay flat at the start. Proudtowintogether has been tossing hints as of late and closed well despite a disastrous cover flow last out. $1 Exacta box 579. Total $6.
Race 6: I think Doctor Young maybe sitting on a big effort here. Has been battling some pretty tough foes in his recent starts and last week he had a pretty tough trip and despite that he closed well. It's another wide open race so plenty of value should be around. Key Island and Winbak Noah are bother top contenders also. $1 Exacta box 356. Total $6.
Race 7: Quando was sharp last week with first time Kramer in the bike and there isn't any reason she shouldn't come back and race well again tonight. She is facing the same competition. There are a few question marks in here tho. Gianna was never in it last week and we know she is much better then that. Winkin N Blinkin has raced very solidly the last 2 weeks and she is a big speed factor in here tonight. Let's Watch. Total $0.
Race 8: We really love Billmar Scooter in this race. She has been closing sharply as of last with the exception of her race two starts back when she was shuffled back against Preferred pacers. She is in a perfect position to take advantage of a solid cover flow. SF Dakota could be a longshot to watch as well. She had no chance last week and although she needs some racing luck, she's going to be a big price. $2 Exacta 6 with 1248. Total $8.
Race 9: Going to go back to Twin B Excalibur. We liked him alot last week off of the huge win against softer and he got shuffled back a bit last week. We figure the effort was good enough in this class last out to stick with. Looked for an improved effort from Wattafine and of course, Son of Nordic is a major player off of his win. $10 Exactas 3 with 57. Total $20.
Race 10: This is going to be a good one. Queen of Royalty an Doc's Moonlite both closed with a vengeance last week. Doc however got the jump and was able to out sprint the Queen to the wire. Post positions are a little different this week, and we are going to say the Queen gets the jump. Ima Forget Me Not has been real good to us the last few weeks. Can she go with the best Mares on the grounds? We definitely think she can get a piece. $2 exactas 7 with 5689. Total $8.
Race 11: Going to go with the class of Upsidedown. He is an Invite trotter when he's right and he is starting to throw hints. There is a lot of speed in this race so a closer could be a valuable commodity in here. Let It Be Me fits that mold. Coming off of the scratch sick maybe a concern but he can come late. Abes Little Blacky is sharp as a tack as well. $2 Exacta Box 567. Total $12
Race 12: We're going to have to deal with Post 9, but if we get the effort out of Happy Trails To U that we did last out, she is going to be very tough to beat in here. Hopefully, the post will bring us some sort of value. My Boy Tom was flying late last week and Rich Raider was facing a pretty tough group at the fair in his last. $2 Trifecta Wheel 9 with 123 with 123. Total $12.
Race 13: Let's take a shot with KB's Cousins in here. Was behind a wall of horses last week and if he would have gotten through, he probably would have won. He was racing very sharp before that at Raceway and if we get 12-1 as the morning line says, we should do a happy dance. $10 WP 2. Total $20.
Race 14: Real Fast Moni has been winning with ease and she will get our vote. This is going to be a little tougher test, because Artisitic Apex and Artistic Heart are both razor sharp right now. Our charge can race from on or off the pace and this barn is great with young horses. We may get some value if the Artistic sisters get some attention at the windows. $10 exactas 3 with 24. Total $20
Race 15: Last time Giovanni's Legacy was in cond. claiming he picked up a win. Has been racing evenly against alot tougher. Drops back down in class for first time Arthur and that's good enough for us. Givemethelead is a logical contender and Shambala improved huge last week. $2 Trifecta 34 with 2346 with 2346. Total $24.
Total Investment: $178.
