Friday Focus #12
Race 1: Afternoon Star was flying late in her last with first time lasix. She gets a positive post shift and although she has been camera shy (2-42 lifetime), she can beat these with a repeat of her last. Artistic Apex has come along nice in her short career. Twice used and tired some in her most recent. Darn Clever could be used as a price underneath. $2 Trifecta 3 with 149 with 149. Wager $12.
Race 2: Platinum Series starts up in race two for young trotters and That's A No No is the one to beat. Every step of the way in his last two and figures to be on the lead again. Last time we saw Red Rocks here, he was parked every step of the way and still managed a decent third. Minor shares against the top pick in his next two. School Spirit has been improving with every start and he could easily rally for a piece here. $4 trifecta 6 with 48. Total $8.
Race 3: Fantasy Beau makes his debut for new connections after getting claimed last week. Lucks into the bottom cond level after battling the tough claiming ranks. Must Be The Bunny is coming off of a sharp Raceway qualifier. Georgie Boy gets first time Carlson and major post relief. $4 Trifecta 4 with 23 with 236. Total $16.
Race 4: Keyanna Rose is coming off of a track record performance two starts back. Her form of a year ago is starting to come back to her. Betteka continues to be a consistent fringe player at this level. First time Kramer makes this one an interesting prospect. Gianna is much better then her last 3 outings indicate. $4 exactas 6 with 124. Total $12.
Race 5: This is a wide open affair so whatever wagering strategy you use, make sure there is value involved. Carrie Water gets a slight edge based on the class drop. She was facing and racing decent against some very tough foes. Giovanni's Legacy raced well from post 8 last week and the improved post should help. Artistic Heart and Informality are both logical contenders but likely to be undervalued. $5 WP 6. Total $10.
Race 6: Two Year Old Filly Trotters take the stage in this Platinum Series Event and Misty's Legacy has the speed and the talent to go along way in her respective division but there is a caveat. In two of her last 3 starts, she broke at the start. The first time she overcame the break, the second time she didn't. New driver tonight and Skip is very good with trotters. Zippity Doo Dah is another with solid ability and she draws post 1. Shezalock has been steadily improving and she will start right behind Doo Dah tonight. $5 exacta 5-9. Total $5.
Race 7: Carson City Road seized the pocket spot last week and made them pay as he went by Snow Dog in the late stages. Carson should use his speed to seek perhaps the same spot again and it could be deja vu if he gets the trip behind Snow Dog again. 2 Year Old form is starting to return. We already talked about Snow Dog, who has put on some real speed showings over this oval. You know where he'll be during the action. Boogity DocBoogity is the question mark. He has big potential and first time Carlson but boy is he inconsistent. Which 'Doc' shows up tonight is anyone's guess. Gogetembrady is the dark horse. $1 Trifecta Box 457. Wager $6. $1 Tri 7 with 458 with 2458. Wager $9. Total $15.
Race 8: Sin A Man pulled off a 61-1 shocker last week when he scorched up the rail to shock Hazel Nation. A new life mark for this 9 YO veteran trotter and he is going up in class. However look at all the speed in here. This is more likely then not going to be a very active first half and if that's the case it sets up real well for a closer. We are going to take a shot for some big digits. $5 WP 8. Total $10.
Race 9: Celtic Danser is back on top of her game and she's rounding into form at precisely the right time. Does draw post 9 but there isn't much speed in here so she probably won't have to much trouble getting to the front end. She is the one to catch and the one to beat. DCN Tulip Time gets first time Wallis and she can show speed as she did 3 back. She may well try to leave and get the trip behind Danser in here. Judy's Promise has been runner up to CD in her last 2 starts. $3 Trifecta 89 with 89 with 457. Total $18.
Race 10: Another interesting Invitational with a few question marks. The big question mark is Benn's Thunder. Wins in what figured to be a needed start two back and Mohawk and then packs it in after the half in his last. Not quite sure how we handle that situation. Wattafine got back to his winning ways last week as he out sprinted Armbro Approach to the finish. AA raced a lot better last week and maybe that could be a hint that his form is starting to come back. Son Of Nordic took care of business in the Coon and was a winner at this class 3 back. Twin B Excalibur has been knocking at the door and will use his speed to secure an early spot. Let's get ourselves a few dollar dogs and enjoy. Wager $0.
Race 11: Going to take a stab with Mia's Bold Maneuver. HE has speed to secure a good trip here and he has had some pretty big efforts north of the border. Wallis got along with the horse well at Dresden and he is coming off of a big effort there in his most recent. Change Your Luck quarter moved last week and was beaten by a very sharp T Red last out. Same strategy could be applied here tonight. $4 Exactas 2 with 13. Total $8.
Race 12: SF Dakota is going up in class but she showed a nice brush right at the end of her mile last week after it appeared she was weakening. She is in line to get a real nice trip behind Cadies Gotta Gun who maybe first over after the speed. Three Crystals makes her third start off the layoff and she draws well. May leave for the trip behind Jump Start tonight. She is our top choice. $10 WP 2. Total $20.
Race 13: Dontpassdamustard should get involved in a live outer flow which should set up good for his late kick. He has been battling those tough claimers and he hooks up with an easier field here tonight for Carlson who drove him to a good second 3 back. Grand Sam could be better tonight after a needed start last out. Game Belief also will be better. Bing class relief, post relief, and second start off of a month and a half. $3 exacta box 7 with 14. Total $6.
Race 14: Double Royal is going to be tough to beat in here. His form has been improving and he is lone speed in here if he uses that strategy. Joel's Time Out gets post improvement and could be a little better. Major post relief could give Buckeye Doug better striking position. $5 exacta 5 with 14. Total $10.
Race 15: There is a ton of speed in here and it may set up for the late close of Electric Gladiator. Here a horse that shocked the world at 36-1 last week and we could get a price on him again. Spartan Pride gets first time Wallis and will be the one to beat. $5 WP 9. Total $10.
Total Investment: $160
