Monday Meltdown #10

Race 1 :
Keno Vicky has been facing some very tough horses over the past few starts including This Sands Hot, who we last saw in our Open/Invite ranks here at Hazel. Last time at this oval, Vicky had an impossible journey from post 9, and the time before that post 8. Has speed in a field where there isn't much. Miss Tiger Lily had a decent effort last out despite a tough trip and broken equipment. Just Walter trotted even in a needed start and may come forward a bit tonight.

Race 2 :
A bit of a break out race for N and R Anna last week as she left hard from post 5 and closed decent despite being used early on. She meets a beatable field in here and if things can be tame up front, the speed could last. Wood Artist continues to knock on the door and he most certainly faces an easier bunch here. JD Buster gets an inside hole after an impossible journey in his last.
$1 Trifecta 37 with 237 with 12367. Total $12.

Race 3 :
We are going to give SGT Cole Hotspur a shot from the extreme outside. He has had it the last 2 weeks while battling tougher. 4th start off of a layoff and a second straight drop in class gives him the nod. Just Wing It made a bad break in his last and this is another with a 3rd start coming off of a month plus. Has a big move but striking position is a must. Buddy Love exhausted himself last out at Raceway. The steady hands of Arthur return to the bike tonight.
$2 Exacta 9 with 278. Total $6.

Race 4 :
Gidget was facing stakes competition in Illinois and Pennsylvania before almost scoring in overnight competition. That's what she gets here tonight. Andover Heels is a bit of a question mark. Made the Connors final and something went amiss as he tired badly in that race. Back to overnights after nearly a month. If he's ready, he's tough. MyLittleJ faced a tough winner last out and is a contender from the rail.
$1 Trifecta 57 with 1357 with 1357. Total $12.

Race 5 :
LF Brandon was used hard last week early on and it cost him towards the late stages. A little tentative in here because there is a lot of speed on paper but sometimes it doesn't play out that way. If that speed does develop, it could benefit Schooner or Later and Djon Henry. Two horses that draw inside and have may be able to pick up the pieces if the speed falters.

Race 6 :
If Wheatland Mar brings to the table what he did last week, he will be almost impossible to beat. First time Wright. 2nd time lasix for Divine Wish and she has speed as well. Grand Hallway could be a price underneath here. He is a better horse then he has shown.
$5 Exactas 6 with 35. Total $10.

Race 7 :
Johnny C is going to be very tough to beat here, especially if SF Stampede doesn't make a quick return to the form he had in early and mid July. Key Island is another speedy type that will be there for a long time.
$10 exacta 6-3. Total $10.

Race 8 :
Going to try the class dropping SS Missy Ann. First start off of a month and she was used hard for the first 3 quarters in that race before tiring. She continues to drop down the classification ladder and this maybe the spot where she breaks out. VT's Gold Key has been a bit of a disappointment off the claim 3 back. Does get post relief here and I wouldn't be surprised if a real big effort is looming. Benn's Wildcat had a tough trip in her last and is back at the level where she won 2 back.

Race 9 :
Armbro Beijing raced real well in defeat against a dropping Tattlers Top Gun in his last start. Figures to show speed again and be the one to catch. Pearl's Johnny gets first time Kody Massey and a big post improvement. Hansum Eclipse drops but is his own worst enemy. If he ever puts it all together, he is going to be a nice horse.

Race 10 :
Casino Showgirl has not been herself this year but the effort 2 starts back maybe an indication she is finding her way. She likes this track. Biggie Size gets his best post in a while after some brutal trips. Its Benn Good circled the field to win his last before the scratch sick.
$3 exacta box 1 with 47. Total $12.

Race 11 :
We really like Hucklebuck in this spot. Good tightener last week after a month plus layoff. Expect a more aggressive effort tonight at a decent mutuel. Oriental Band is best suited from off the pace so the post isn't going to hurt him especially if a live outer flow develops. SBD First Blood has speed and the rail and is a consistent customer at this level.
$5 WP 5. Total $10.

Race 12 :
Winsome Wonder is very sharp right now and is looking for her 4th win in her last 5 starts. All wins have come against this level. CC Mister C is back from Sarnia after a few decent efforts. Fairy Tale Ending just missed the speed of Distant Memories last out. She is up in class but her form has improved. We are going to hope we are up at this stage of the game so we can afford a delicious Dearborn hot dog and some tasty nachos (extra peppers please).

Race 13 :
This will not be a walk in the park for Bronson Hall this time around. He has had an easy time grabbing control and going all the way his last few outings at this claiming level but I'll tell ya, this has to be one of the toughest claiming fields I have seen at this racetrack for this level. We are going to mix it up a little as this maybe a good race to try for a closer. Noble Niner fits the bill. He will be part of what is sure to be a live outer flow. Good digits if he can pull it off. Only Choice will be part of that flow also.
$2 Exactas 78 with 6789. Total $12.

Race 14 :
Very interesting affair. Barn change on Doc's Awesome as he goes to Hazel's leading stable. Keep the Change drops and yet again and goes from post 9 to post 1. Shore Native was racing huge at RP. Draws post 9 and he can be a bit temperamental behind the gate.
$5 Exacta 3 with 19. $2 exacta 19 with 139. Total $18.

Race 15 :
Not quite sure what happened to Grand River Ace last out but if he can rebound from that effort, he has a shot here with first time Moody and the rail spot. Gorgeous Forever is coming off of 2 straight breaks but if he can mind his racing manners, he could be ok in here. Upswing was in a race last out marred by a spill. She can share at a price.
