Friday Focus #14

Race 1 :
Time For Justice did all the work last out only to get run down in the stretch. She moves outside in post position but the strategy should be the same. Chip of Nordic has several minor placings at this level and is a must use underneath. Blazers Wally had a tough trip from post 9 last out against tougher. He closed to win at this level 2 starts back.

Race 2 :
Last time we saw Terror Rising here, she finished second in a needed start against a very sharp winner. Since then, she has been competing evenly against stakes competition. Back to overnight competition makes her the one to beat. Kenzie's Scooter was ready to make a go at it after 3 quarters last week and had some road trouble upon seeking clear racing room. Rail draw makes her a solid threat.
$2 Trifecta 12 with 12 with 346. Total $12.

Race 3 :
Really Perfect exploded with trot last out when he finally got free. Pretty soft spot. Lovely Lashes could improve a bit in here. She tired a bit against some decent fractions in her last, which was her first start in town in a while. Jailhouse Myna qualified decent and may trip out for new driver Mark Webster.
$1 Trifecta 6 with 137. Wager $6. $2 exacta 6 with 13. Wager $4. Total $10.

Race 4 :
SF Espinoza gets our nod off a power packed performance last out at Raceway. Brings his new found form to a soft party here. Lani's Raider has the speed to give herself a good early spot. 2nd time lasix. JL's Last Dance scored a perfect trip triumph 2 back against similar. Was in contention when he made a break last start.
$5 exacta 5 with 36. Total $10.

Race 5 :
Milwaukee Ray raced well in a needed start from post 8. Especially in the late stages and thats what you like to see in a needed effort. Big post shift gives him a big shot here tonight. Pete's Brother is a much better horse then his recent form indicates. Has obviously been battling illness and will strike with a good effort one of these starts. Moon is on Fire is back to overnights after a good effort against stakes caliber.
$1 2 with 16 with 167. Wager $4. $2 exacta box 2 with 67. Wager $4. Total $8.

Race 6 :
Fine Good crushed the field last time over this oval. Time wasn't anything spectacular but it was still an impressive victory for a 3 YO Filly that has some talent. Mad Match has raced sharp as he makes a class move from the cond.claiming ranks to the straight non-winners. Smooth Flight has the times on his side as he makes his local debut as ML choice. Likely undervalued but still a must use underneath.
$2 trifecta 47 with 47 with 25. Total $8.

Race 7 :
Keyanna Rose is back in her home class after a good third against the Inviters. She is definitely the one to beat in this spot. Betteka has the speed to secure an early spot and is usually a door knocker in this class. First time Moody has been a real good angle this meet at Hazel. Our Girl Maddie is starting to come into her own could be used as a price play here.
$2 Trifecta 6 with 13 with 135. Total $8.

Race 8 :
Keep the Change has had broken equipment last out so you can throw that race in the trash can. Post 9 two starts back against tougher. This could be a win spot for him tonight. Downtown Dude draws inside after a victory against easier. Shark Lover drops after a good effort against tougher.
$5 exacta 7 with 26. Total $10.

Race 9 :
Abe's Little Blacky went from the pocket to 3 wide at the top of the stretch last out and could not gun down a tough winner. Draws the rail again and should be very tough to beat in here. Thunder Putt closed well in his last 2 starts and figures to be a reliable option to use underneath. Pierre Lavec has back class on his side but form let him down last out. Bounce back effort is possible.
$3 trifecta 1 with 56 with 456. Total $12.

Race 10 :
Pay Attention Jack rode the rail in a needed start last out. She double drops in class and is the one to beat. Look for better from Hopetobeking. no chance against a very sharp winner last out. Previous efforts at Raceway are good. 2nd time lasix for Southwind Mallory.
$4 exacta 3 with 47. Total $8.

Race 11 :
Afternoon Star exploded on the scene in the late stages in her last against a strong winner in Spartan Pride. She draws the rail and that should improve striking range tonight. Giovanni's Legacy has just raced huge over the last few starts. His sharpness gives him the one to beat status. De Bomber is a speed threat in here.
$10 WP 1. Total $20.

Race 12 :
Lets go with Shore Native in this spot. Looking for a bit of a price as all the mutuel action will center around Madey Mac and My Boy Jeff from the inside. Shore Native has the speed to be a part of that early mix. He has been racing very well at Raceway. Can be a little tough to handle right at the gate. Not a big fan of playing the off but this maybe a spot where if you have that convenience, you may want to exercise it here.

Race 13 :
Man was Perfectly Odd moving well late in her last. That was in a needed start as well. She finds herself going against a little easier group tonight. We are looking for a little improvement from Hard Work Pays Off tonight. Draws the rail and will represent value underneath. Lonestar Special is also coming off of two improved efforts at the fair.
$10 exactas 6 with 12. Total $20.

Race 14 :
Here Comes Mary is coming off of two nice efforts at the fairs. Last over this oval wasn't that good, but the one before was ok against Real Fast Moni, who is also in this race, but is coming off of a month layoff. Artisan's Place has the speed and will be there from the word go.
$4 exacta box 2 with 56. Total $8.

Race 15 :
Our pick is Scootnick Bodeen. Big post shift after a tough trip in his last. Bar K Artistic is another coming off of a very tough journey against the class of Blue Oxfords last out. Soular didn't get room until real late last out and flew up to get a piece.
