Friday Focus #16
Race 1: Going to hope for a bit of a price with Joke Teller. Last out at this class he won pretty nice 3 back. Scratch lame followed by a dull effort at RP is a bit of a concern but he's back in quick and draws well. ICU Mr Charlie maybe the one to beat but is coming off of a nearly 20 day layoff. First time Kramer on Abe's Little Blacky. $5 WP 2. Total $10.
Race 2: RJ's Irish Lassie nearly won her career debut last out flying in the stretch just to miss. Post a concern but if she can improve off that effort just slightly, she is a big threat. Kenzie's Scooter looked like she had it wrapped up last out and suffered a narrow defeat. Echo's Minnow showed improvement last out but drew poorly once again. $4 Trifecta 9 with 38 with 328. Total $16.
Race 3: YF Crasher gets her second start for new connections after coming up a bit short last out. Top trainer has had 10 more days to get more familiar with his find. Misty's Legacy has asserted herself as one of the mainstays in this division with another powerful come from behind effort in her last. Shezalock maybe her own worst enemy. Had the Spartan locked up 2 starts back entering the stretch and she broke with an insurmountable lead. Trainer in the bike as she broke again last week. $3 Trifecta 9 with 567. Total $18.
Race 4: Going to go back to Electric Gladiator in this spot. Made a nice move last week in the middle half only to get dueled out. Is better from off the pace as witnessed 4 starts back. First time Wallis. Our Soulja Boy is the one to beat. Third start for these connections and is coming off of a nice second place finish against a tough foe. Kamehameha raced better when sent to this level last out. $5 WP 8. Total $10.
Race 5: Going to go against the likely heavy favorite and back to A Lister. Very tough trip out in Post 8 last start and the move inside to post 5 should help dramatically. Has been knocking at the door in this division all year long. Specialty Training is the one to beat. He was a dime on the dollar last out and lost all hope of winning when he made a break. The entry of Righty Tighty and That's a No No will also prove to be a very tough combo considering their prior success at this division. $5 exacta 6 with 14. Total $10.
Race 6: This division continues to be a revolving door of winners. Last week, it was Judy's Promise who scored a grinding win. Celtic Danser no longer has the headlock on this division like she had last year, although she still has high speed and will more then likely be on the lead. If one of these Platinums is going to provide us with value, this may be it with DCN Tulip Time. She was flying last out after being shuffled all the way to last. She is in a spot to be in what should be a very live cover flow tonight. $4 exacta 6 with 478. Total $12.
Race 7: Slop may have thrown Our Girl Maddie off a little last week. She had to undergo a first over trip and Quando was not going to be beaten that night. Speaking of Quando, is coming off of that impressive victory. She can be a bit inconsistent however. Keyanna Rose is always worth mentioning as she has the most impressive overall credentials. $5 exacta 1 with 56. Total $10.
Race 8: Howyadoinpal was impressive in his upset victory just 3 days ago in the Ewart Final at Indiana Downs. As I was doing the morning line for this race, I just happened to look up and watch him complete his grinding victory down Indiana's long stretch. He beat these 4 starts back and we'll give him the nod here tonight. The team of Rockford and Jo Jo N Goliath are certainly formidable with the latter winning against many of these last out. Snow Dog represents the speed from the inside. $10 WP 6. Total $20.
Race 9: Invite time at Hazel and Home Stretch makes his return. Sharp victory 2 back was followed by a tough trip up north. As a matter of fact, he has won 2 in a row here at this level. Wattafine looked like he was home free last out but was gunned down in the stretch by Armbro Approach. Not very often you see Wattafine get caught late. That should say something for the improving form of AA, who is starting to show flashes of his old self. That's not good news for the other inviters. With That being said, it's $1 hot dog time. Wager $0.
Race 10: Your Raider Girl is now under the tutelage of Michigan's top trainer. She raced solidly against tough foes at Mohawk and now looks to bring her success here, which I see her having no problem doing. Nillabomb is dropping down but form seems to be an issue with her right now. Billmar Scooter beat this class two back and draws well. Actually, this is another that we are going to skip. Wager $0.
Race 11: Not a whole lot of speed in here so this may favor Queen of Royalty in this spot. Perfect trip second to the tough Faithfully last out and with her absent, the Queen could get back to he throne tonight. Ima Forget Me Not owns a devastating late kick that was absent from her arsenal last out. Look for a bit of a bounce back effort here tonight. Age Of Consent proved she could hang with these last start. $20 win 6. Total $20.
Race 12: Another first time Zaim and first time Wallis with Blackbird Singing. This horse has potential and last time we saw him here, he raced evenly against tougher. SF Overcast maybe the one to beat off of his impressive win here last out. Look for an improved effort from Hi Bred Option. This horse has some talent but can be his own worst enemy at times. $10 WP 2. Total $20.
Race 13: We love Game Belief in this spot. He has been improving every start since his month and a half layoff. He was closing fast last out with the move inside, this maybe the win spot. Indy Life is the danger off the class drop. He has a good late kick as well. $10 WP 2. Total $20.
Race 14: Going for a price here with Standforsomething. Drops in class after facing some very tough competition including a red hot horse in his last few starts. Jatelo raced well in victory last out and fits well here in this claimer. Madey Mac is always a danger at this claiming level. $4 exacta box 6 with 35. Total $16.
Race 15: Feelin Bulletproof is making his debut for his new connections from the rail tonight. Qualifier looks slow but it was over a sloppy morning track. Price could be nice. SF Cinderella is coming off of a good effort from post 8 and now gets first time Carlson. Upward and Onward has speed to overcome the poor post for a returning Wallis. $5 WP 1. Total $10.
Total Investment: $192
