Monday Meltdown #14
Race 1 : This race could set up for fast early fractions with speedsters Bronson Hall, Waterproof, and Shore Native. If that's the case, a come from behinder may make a decent play. FWF Successor underwent a very tough trip last week and was softened up nice for closer Cagey Attack. IF things go according to Hoyle, a first over trip maybe in the cards here tonight and that may not be a bad thing as he can grind. Don'tpassdamustard is looking to extend his winning streak to four. He also figures from off the pace. $4 exacta box 16. $5 WP 1. Total $18.
Race 2 : This is a very wide open affair. We are going to try Roughtoughnsmokin. Needed start from post 9 last week and times wise he didn't pace that bad. Second start for these connections with an improved post gives him a longshot hope. Favorites very vulnerable in here. $5 WP 5. Total $10.
Race 3 : Lot of horses returning from the fairs in this 2-5 YO trot. Once again, this is a wide open affair. Going to give a slight edge to Classy Gold. First time Art Mc and takes on easier then her last couple. Copyright has been very consistent over her last few. The 2 YO Filly hasn't been worse then 3rd in her last 5 starts. Fourkeeps raced well against a pretty tough field in her last. Second time lasix for her. Let's enjoy a $3.99 steak at this juncture. Wager $0.
Race 4 : Little doubt Rei Rogers is the one to beat in here. Has been facing tougher while showing spurts of talent here and there. Dropped into a Maiden last out and raced well despite a tough trip. Off 3 weeks after a vet scratch is the concern. Another Smile is gradually improving and appears to have a decent late kick. Great Mileage draws the rail after a very tough journey in his last. $5 exacta 2 with 16. Total $10.
Race 5 : Going to take a stab with Ima Genius. This one had a pretty solid 2 YO campaign and has struggled here so far at 3. Is coming off of a real nice qualifier at Indiana and draws well. Is likely to be overlooked at the windows. Mr C Man Made a break at the start last out and still rallied well to be second behind Walter Ray. The latter is working on a 3 race win streak and has a victory 2 starts back here at Hazel. Don't Scratch It can be a threat with first time Moody. $2 exacta box 2 with 378. Total $12.
Race 6 : Going to be tough to go against Ja Taime who deserves stout favoritism in here. Off a victory in an Ontario Sire steaks event, this 2 YO filly figures to enjoy the easier competition here tonight. Ashley Paige tired off the quick fractions last time over this oval, but rebounded nice with a win at Harrison fair. Draws inside and should be better then we last saw her. Riviera Raider draws the rail after her maiden breaker as heavy favorite last out. $5 exacta 2 with 17. Total $10.
Race 7 : SF Foxy is coming off of a decisive win while making a debut for her new trainer. She steps up the NW ladder but this is a tougher group. Still should be able to handle however. With the short price looming up top, let's try to get some prices underneath. Corwin's Sweetie hasn't been racing well but does show a strong late kick every once in a while and if this turns into a blowout, she can close for a slice at big odds. $2 trifecta 3 with 247. Total $12.
Race 8 : Going to take a shot here with Admiral B Cool. He did something last week he hasn't done in a while and that's display a strong last quarter with the re-addition of lasix. Not alot of speed in here so if he leaves, it shouldn't be too quick up front. Sale As Is has been racing decidedly better and is the one to beat based off the current form. A Fillie NamedFred could be a little better in here. $5 WP 3. Total $10.
Race 9 : YF Little Guy erupted with a dominating performance in a new barn last out. Takes a step up the conditioned ladder but still figures to be the one to beat based off that last performance. Distant Memories is all go and no show and from the rail his speed will be tough to corral. This race could set up for a closer and Sin A Man can pack a late wallop. Let's live on the edge and try the closer with all this speed in here. $5 WP 8. Total $10.
Race 10 : In the Loop is our pick here based on strong current form. First time Wallis. In The Loop finished second to returning winner Hansum Eclipse last start. Looslipssinkships faces the easiest competition he has in quite some time, although form has left him since the scratch lame in late July. Singin Blues double drops and has speed. $5 ex box 5 with 48. Total $20.
Race 11 : A few question marks in this race make it a little difficult. Let It Be Me is coming off of a qualifier and has had trouble staying on stride lately. Kaa Dee Quiz is in the same boat. Both trotters are talented and if they stay flat, can easily win this race. Its Benn Good has a solid late kick and Random Flight is always a threat at this level. $2 exacta wheel 23 with 2367. Total $16.
Race 12 : As always, this cond claiming level is a tough race, but a good race if you can detect some value. We are going to try what should be a huge price and thats Blue Time Overdue. Very tough trip last out from post 9. Second time lasix and Moody returns could give us a big shot at big odds. SBD First Blood was shuffled back last out and closed well. Slow pace hurt Stanley B last out. three previous shares at this level before that. $4 exacta box 7 with 15. Total $16.
Race 13 : Caviar's Dream figures to be a solid play in here. 3rd start back after a month layoff and both times drew posts 8 and 9. Post 6 is still outside, but it's worlds better. Soft spot. Caballo Diablo hung a little late last out and should be better against this soft field. Really Perfect looked solid last time in his victory against easier. $4 exacta 6 with 578. Total $12.
Race 14 : SF Alibi battled for the lead last out and had nothing left in the tank. First time Wallis tonight and the rail should aid in a bounce back effort. Keepsafe had a tough trip in the slop against strong winner Rip Daddy last out. Mac's Lil Raider could be a sleeper after even efforts against those tough claimers in his last 6 starts. $2 exacta box 123. Total $12.
Race 15 : Garner Seelster meets a pretty easy field in here. Tough trip against tough foes in the slop last out. Soni's Galley has a decent late kick and if timed right, could get up for a slice. Briar Clip has hit the board in each of his last 6 starts. $2 trifecta 5 with 147 with 147. Total $12.
