Saturday Slam #14

Race 1 :
Going to go with Benns Wildcat in this spot. Usually very good at this class and has a pretty solid late kick. Fairy Tale Ending drops down after some even efforts. Last out at this class, she just missed to Distant Memories, who has been sharp all year long. Date Worthy gets first time Wallis and may close up for a minor.

Race 2 :
Sire Stakes Eliminations continue in preparation for Night of Champions next week. 2 YO Colt pacers in here and Morelli continues to impress. Dominating gate to wire wins in his last 4 outings and it appears he is full steam ahead to the big dance next Saturday Night. We are looking for an upset however. Right Back closed with a vengeance last week in Platinum series action despite broken equipment. He roared home two weeks ago despite some road trouble. He seems to be peaking at the right time and if there is any resistance to Morelli's early offense, then our chances will get better.

Race 3 :
3 YO Filly Trotters take front and center stage and Meet Me at Midnight is our top pick. Tough trip from post 7 last out against the cream of the crop in this division and our charge is in the easier of two divisions tonight. Motown Dreamgirl obviously has the gate speed and will be the one to catch here tonight. Grand Duchess has had success against these, winning the Wolverine back in July.

Race 4 :
2 YO Colt pace and we are looking for Deringer Gun to spring a mild upset in here. He set a torrid tempo last out only to give way late in the lane. This pacer has some ability and if Carlson can throttle the early speed, he could be a tough customer. CF Sting Rei maybe the one to beat. He has had to settle for runner up honers to Morelli in his last 2. Has a good late kick but he does move outside. Rei Rogers is another that has some talent.

Race 5 :
The Keyodee express looks to roll on at 3 YO Colt Trotters take the stage. What can you say about him that already hasn't been said. He has won 12 of 17 this year, and most of those wins came against this competition. He is 1-1 in the morning line and will probably go off less then that. Debi's Keeper has been runner up to the above in 3 of his last 5 starts. Cadillac Kid has some speed but draws the far outside and that will compromise his chances tonight. Let's enjoy the Keyodee show.

Race 6 :
Don't Touch This looks to have a decided class advantage in here. Double drop from the last time she was here, and to boot she was racing well against that tougher company. Look for a bit of improvement from Ima Keeper here tonight. Wallis knows her best and she is coming off of a week rest and that may help her speed last a little longer tonight. Just Dani is red hot but draws outside again, so she will need another huge effort to overcome this poor post.

Race 7 :
We are going to take a shot with Rhianna Davine in here. She won 4 starts back with this post and this driver in a respectable time. She broke in her last and had post 9 before that. It's a pretty soft Opt claimer so lets give her a longshot hope. Grand Hallway is another that broke last out and before that had a horrible trip from post 8. Shoe In draws well and should be in line for a good trip.

Race 8 :
2 YO Filly Pacers in here and there is no show wagering in this race and Media Darling is the culprit. She is undefeated and is another that is full steam ahead to Night of Champions. Back to back life marks and she is a speed type so she will control her own destiny. Dani Rei has a legitimate chance to end her streak tonight tho. She draws the rail and closed very well in what figured to be a needed start. 3 horse entry for trainer Mike Watson and as an observer, I really like All Too Real. I think she has alot of talent and can be a real nice horse when she learns the ropes. Let's watch.

Race 9 :
Another interesting Invite as Daddy Mac looks for his second straight win. Used his speed to his advantage last out to secure a solid trip. Real Samart has a huge late kick and was a little out of position last time. A little better striking position could mean the world to this late rusher. Cammabis sizzled on the lead last out and fizzled in the straight. Should be better tonight with a better trip. We are still going to sit it out.

Race 10 :
Have to string with Doc's Awesome after his near miss last out. He found room real late and just missed against a class dropping Shockbyelectric. 5th start for his new barn. Getcha Sum Cash has a wicked late kick and is coming with his third start off the qualifier. Draws well and with adequate striking range, he can be dangerous. SF Stampede will go as fast as he can as long as he can.

Race 11 :
This is going to be a barn burner. Some heavy duty talent in here we are going with Blackbird Singing from the rail. No elimination for the 3 YO Colt Pace so they are spread out a bit amongst the overnights. First time lasix and first time in the top stable resulted in a remarkable gate to wire performance for Blackbird Singing. Draws the rail and is our pick against a very tough field. The other 3 YO Howyadoinpal shocked Hoosier nation with a 40-1 win in the Ewart Final at Indiana. He followed that up with a come from behind score in the Platinum vs the same competition he will see next week at Night Of Champions. Infinite Justice is the class and Wallis choose him over a few in here.

Race 12 :
There is a ton of speed in this race so this one may set up well for a closer here. Front Page looked very good in victory last out against a softer field but he is capable of putting up some good last quarters. He is inconsistent but he may benefit if the speed falls apart. SF Midas is having a wonderful year winning 11 of 28 mostly in the claiming ranks. Colonel Cam can be a little better as he has been chasing much tougher.

Race 13 :
Clear The Decks has been sharp as of late and he is in a very soft situation here. Should extend the winning streak to 3 here tonight. Blue Time Overdue is a good horse to put second. He was extremely wide at the top of the stretch and closed pretty well. Captain Cool has an impossible journey last out.

Race 14 :
One of these nights, Aflak is going to break out of his slump and tonight maybe the night. Wallis returns and he double drops here tonight. Talon Seelster draws outside again but he meets a softer field and should be better. Rip Daddy draws well and is coming off of a confidence building win against cheaper.

Race 15 :
Wide open affair in the finale. Carlson knows My Boy Tom best and there could be value here. Back to back 8 posts in his last 2 and now he draws inside. Bookie Faurot could be better with the move to cond claimers. Afternoon Star has a big late kick and has raced very well after adding lasix.
