Tuesday Thinktank #2

Race 1 selection - ROAN CODY
In most races, one of the first handicapping tools I try and use is to visualize where horses will be and which ones will leave for position and/or even the lead. Our pick really has an advantage on the outside speed here (Distant Memories and Hoosier Disco). He has been knocking at the door with the exception of his last when he underwent a tough trip. Go Wes Young Man can be a threat here if he doesn't need the race. Rose Run Harry would be a wise use underneath in Tris and Supers. Starry Knight looked dominating in victory last week BUT the rail and trotters at this racetrack sometimes do not mesh. For that fact alone (and I know he will be the overwhelming favorite), play some gimmicks with him totally off the ticket.

Race 2 selection - FRANK HO
Backed him last week and he finished third to the back class represented by Antique Tom. The field even gets easier here tonight so we will try him again. TJS Berrysanders will use his speed to his advantage here with St Louis sticking around. Don't underestimate Allright Allen. Tough trip last week. Needs an early spot.

Race 3 selection - A LI'L WIGGLE ROOM
First start of '09 last start and she raced well against tough competition. That level of "comp" isn't as stiff here, and she should be tighter with the start under her belt. Rose Run Joni has been getting minor awards at this level and once again figures highly underneath in exotic wagers. Another you can use underneath is Good Looks Express. Needed start from the 9 last week and finished a closing 4th. Remember this barn had this pattern with another trotter (Say it Best) and that one came back to win next start. Deja Vu??

Race 4 selection - ELLIE MAE'S WAY
Excellent qualifier on 5/8 on a good track against a very tough Carson City Road. There isn't much speed at all in here, so she is nearly guaranteed a good trip. Not quite sure what the price will be here, but hoping the sub :58 qua on the 8 horse Slick will grab some attention. Just Dud was eliminated last week as he was behind a falling horse. Improvement should continue here. Grand River Ace lost all chance last week as well.

Race 5 selection - MUSCLES KASH
Second best to a real nice trotter in his last (Prime Time Caviar). Figures to show speed tonight and once again, has an advantage because the speed is way outside of him tonight. Look for Evening Prayer to be better tonight after the needed start last week. Red Neck Style returns to the condition he finished a strong second at 2 starts ago. Keyodee Star has been making it look easy folks. This is a much tougher field however, so he will be tested tonight (and probably not at good value).

Race 6 selection - BENN'S VICTORY
Driven aggressively last week and could not hold off the pocket sitting Madey Mac. This is a completely different stage tonight. For one, the field is much bigger. For two, Madey Mac is out in post 8, and for three, there is a lot more speed in here. I think our pick is sitting on a real big effort here tonight. For a longshot to use underneath, watch Rather Be a Cowboy. Carlson is back and that is going to help.

Race 7 selection - DAY TIME STAR
This race is really wide open, so whatever you decide to do you should demand value. Looking for a price with our pick in here. He is coming off of a month off, but this barn has sent them ready in the past. Hoping he fires fresh at a price against a suspect field. RB Spirit chased very fast fractions in his last. I guarantee he won't see them here.

Race 8 selection - JOHNNY G THAT'S ME
Our pick loves this racetrack. Has back class and high speed and this barn is coming around as of late. He gets the nod over another horse that should improve some here. Miracle Sam was over his head the last 4 starts and he should be able to go with these. Kramer returns. Polar Bear made an unfortunate break at the start last week, and he drops to a level he should have success at.

Race 9 selection - BIGGIE SIZE
Lost to the classy Pierre Lavec last week despite a tough trip. He should find this field much more to his liking tonight. Fox Ridge Michael came from behind to finish second to Benn's Wildcat (who came back to win last night). YF Little Guy made a huge move last week as well only to flatten out against a tougher field.

Race 10 selection - CC ARTIE
We liked him last week and he had a death trip. We will go with him again in hopes of not having that same journey. It's Spider is really sporting sharp form at the present and BK returns to the bike tonight. She's Tweemendous has been really good as well. She is coming off of nearly a one month layoff however.

Race 11 selection - ANTIQUE TOM
Blew away the competition in his last. This is a tougher group then he faced last week. However, he does own post 1 and he does keep Carlson. With this in mind, there may be a price involved here due to the fact others will get attention. Scholar's Choice is one of the "attention getters" coming off of the big win against ultra soft last week. D Black Bow Tie will be another despite the poor post.

Race 12 selection - JET TRAIL
Make no mistake about it, My Boy Jeff is going to be very tough to beat here (even from post 9). But being the price seekers we are, we will try and beat him with Jet Trail. Last time Mr Carlson drove him at this class, he won in :57.2 at the Ville. He drops from that tough $6,000 claiming crew. Bad Heart will once again be tough from the rail.
