Friday Focus #3

Race 1 selection - ROCA ROCKETTE
:57.2 in a needed start is ok by me. Post makes price perhaps. Battled a tough field last week in a mile that went a fast 1:56.3. Just hope we can get some striking position and a little racing luck. Horse to beat is Keep the Change. We like him last week at 6-1 and he had a real tough trip. He will be undervalued tonight and he is combustible (meaning he can beat himself). Fully Loaded Gun never got a hole last week and will be gunning out from post 8.

Race 2 selection - GLASGOW GAMER
A bit of a tough trip last week. He was parked first turn, finally settled in, and still had enough in the tank to close decently. I understand his record isn't all that great, but sometimes 3 Year Olds just one day figure it out, and there is no doubt he is coming off of the best race in his career. Mr Dreamer invades with decent form. Also for a price play, use Shark Man underneath.

Race 3 selection - ROUNDABOUT ROSE
We will take first time Wallis. However, I guarantee there is no chance at 5-1 here. Zip, zero. Our pick usually has a few good races in him every year, and the driver switch is telling us this is probably going to be one of them. NE Love Kandu had a solid 3 YO campaign, but has struggled at 4 thus far. If she can stay flat, this is a pretty easy bunch for her to regain some confidence. Rova Rose closed well last week against a tough winner. So did Sin A Man, although this one has gait issues at times.

Race 4 selection - MR AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Our pick fits really well in here. Has had success over this racetrack in the past. This isn't the easiest 2100 L/7 I have ever seen, but we will still go with the veteran pacer from the outside. Wild Wild Westy is facing easier after really struggling against the tough NW3 last start. Museum Piece is coming off of a decent qua.

Race 5 selection - CC J LO
OK, I am officially on the bandwagon. She has been terrific this year. She has won 4 of her last 5 and her last win, she just accelerated in the final 150 yards of that race. The question is, is she ready to take the hike. This is a tough field no doubt. HOWEVER, things have the potential to get out of hand early. Champagne Slammer, Sailor Made, You Are Precious and Dear Caterina are all early movers. This can play right into our hands. Those dis-believing JLO can take the hike will make our price tonight.

Race 6 selection - OUR GIRL MADDIE
Win or lose tonight, this daughter of Keystone Nordic is coming into her own real fast. She raced very well from the 9 spot last week. She gets post relief and a shorter field and we will get a price here. Such a good price that we probably should use her underneath as well. SY was very impressive last week. And what can we say about Willy B Perfect that we haven't said before. A talented trotter that is his own worst enemy.

Race 7 selection - CHRIS CROSS
She had a ton last week, but could not find room until very late. She has no choice but to be in the cover flow here and that should give her a clean trip home tonight. Besta Soul exploded at Sarnia last week in her first start in a month. She is an open mare when she's right. Doc's Moonlite finally gets class relief after battling the tough open competitors. Draft Bunny has a lot of potential and a big move.

Race 8 selection - JUDGE JOE
How nice is this horse. He made mad bucks his 2YO campaign, and his qualifier was simply sensational. Very hard to pick against him here. Gianna qualified well and this barn has sent them ready. Lindy's Maestro has been very good as well. All hail the Judge in here.

Race 9 selection - RENAISSANCE WOMAN
First time Wallis again. She has been the victim of some very tough trips. I think her revenge takes place tonight. Queen of Royalty was parked since the word go last week. She will probably be out and going early this time. Nillabomb has been very sharp in her last 2 races.

Race 10 selection - RIP DADDY
Looked solid in his 2009 debut. Steps up in class here tonight, but we think he could be even better with the start under his belt. PC'S Leo gets post relief here. He was gobbling up ground last week only to run out of real estate. The better post should give him better striking position. Singin Blues is dropping down to a level he enjoyed success at a few weeks ago.

Race 11 selection - TRADITIONALIST
This is out best bet of the month here. Raced well against the high priced claimers last week, and now lucks into this easy spot. We will take whatever given to us as far as odds go. Beach Streaker is obviously the main threat here with his speed.

Race 12 selection - CAGEY ATTACK
We are in search of a price and we will get one here. There is going to be a lot of activity in this race. Perhaps not a battle on the front end, but certainly an active middle half, which should result in an active outer flow, which should bring our guy up into striking range. With definite double digit odds on our pick, we might also want to use him underneath in gimmicks as well.
