Gates open daily at 11:30 am, or earlier as announced. Staffed mutuel windows open at noon, however self-service machines are always available.

Although Hazel Park generally is open for simulcasting 7 days a week, exceptions do occur. Check the web site for changes.
Concession stands and the Top of the Park Grill are open whenever the track is open for simulcast racing. Clubhouse dining is available on nights during live racing.
Reservations for the Clubhouse are recommended.

What does it cost to come to Hazel Park?
General admission and parking is free every day. Reserved seating is available for special race days (Night of Champions), and special simulcast events such as the Kentucky Derby and Breeders' Cup.
Please call (248) 398-1000 for information about these special dates.
A daily program for a single track, including Hazel Park during live racing, is $2. A simulcast program is $2 as well. Daily Racing Form is also available at Hazel Park.
Concession stands and the Top of the Park Grill offer food and beverages at a wide range of prices.

Does Hazel Park have a dress code?
On most days we don't have a dress code, although the "no shoes, no shirt, no service" rule applies. Hazel Park encourages patrons to follow racing's traditions and dress accordingly.

Are children allowed to come to the racetrack?
Children are welcome at the track so long as they are supervised at all times by an adult.

Can I host a party at Hazel Park?

Does Hazel Park have non-smoking areas?
The 3rd floor Lounge area is entirely non-smoking.

May I bring my dog to Hazel Park?
For the safety of our horses and riders, dogs are not allowed at the track or in the barn area unless they are working dogs assisting disabled patrons.
Can I bring a camera?
For safety issues regarding patrons and horsmen, cameras are not allowed. We may however make exceptions if you contact the operator at 248-398-1000 to make prior arrangements.

What about food and beverage service?
Enjoy casual dining in the Top of the Park Grill on the 4th floor as well as standard concessions & bar service. The Top of the Park is open whenever Hazel Park is open for live or simulcast racing. The Concession stand
on the third floor offers a variety of snacks, candy, ice cream, and bar service. Hazel Park also offers catering for group events and parties.

How can I learn to handicap a race and bet?
Helpful materials are available at the Player's Club booth in the main lobby, and you can also check out Wagering 101. Our programs also contain
information on how to read the program and place a bet. Members of our staff are always on the floor and are happy to answer your questions.<

What time do Hazel Park's betting windows open?
The mutuel windows open at noon whether live or simulcast, and self-service machines are always available for use. After the windows open, you may place bets for any race at any
track that day. Hazel Park's gates open at 11:30 am ET, or earlier as announced. Changes in the schedule are posted on the web site.

How old do you have to be to bet?
In Michigan, you must be at least 18 years old to wager.

How long do I have to cash a winning ticket?
Winning tickets may be cashed until February of the following year from the date of issue which is printed on the ticket. For example, if your ticket was purchased in April of 2009 you have until February 2010 to cash your ticket.

Are videos of Hazel Park races available on the Hazel Park web site?
At this time we do not offer live streaming video or replays of our races on our web site, however we are working to provide this feature in the near future.
